Serious issues with server and editing

  I tagged onto a post this week of someone who was having problems with pictures, formatting and editing, insomuch as pictures were disappearing when they tried to format them. I have a host of problems associated with pictures and formatting generally and after raising the matter in the forum and pointing support at the forum post WP came back to say that they were trying to fix the problem. This still hasn’t been done and my post is looking a mess.

  Today there was some maintenance going on and for about ten minutes all the correct formatting appeared on my post. However, it didn’t last. I’m getting really fed up with this now. So much so that I may have to move my blog. Anybody else having this kind of problem?

  In fact its getting worse because even the formatting on the WP management pages is wrong. On my stats and other pages the underlines now go through the headings. This is only since this morning though.

  Thanks Isadora, but that post says the maintenance is complete – obviously it isn’t!

  The most recent posts on my blog will not format. The formatting appears in the code and on the editing window but not on the web. When I reformat pictures the code duplicates but nothing happens – its a mess!

  I had to remove all the pictures from the last but one post because the type was going under the pictures on the live version and none of the horizontal or vertical spaces appear on the last three posts.

  This is getting ridiculous. I can now see the horizontal and vertical space around pictures when I view using Internet Explorer but the paragraph formatting had disappeared! I still don’t have the picture formatting on Mozilla though.

  phildarb, I had a look at your code and see some messy html, for example:
  <img border="0" align="left" width="288" src="http://thefullblog.files.wordpress.com/2008/02/dreamstime_1859101.jpg?w=288&h=561" hspace="6" alt="dreamstime_1859101.jpg" height="561" style="width:232px;height:409px;" />

  Try this, instead:
  <img src="http://thefullblog.files.wordpress.com/2008/02/dreamstime_1859101.jpg alt="dreamstime_1859101.jpg" style="width:232px;height:409px;float:left;margin:6px;" />

  You can also use margin-bottom to specify a margin on the bottom of your picture, or margin-right for a margin between the right edge of your image and the text.
