Server Error (500 Internal Server Error) – Elementor
-
Hello,
Here’s my issue: A few months ago I started receiving the Server Error (500 Internal Server Error) upon trying to save changes on Elementor. I worked around that by deactivating all plugins (except Elementor) to save the page updates. This worked for a while, until a few weeks ago I realized that now upon saving the contents of the page almost all of them vanish – the header slider, the text, CTA, etc. Whereas some other elements—mostly images—remain. I end up fixing the page by restoring an older version saved by WordPress. There is no pattern to this error because sometimes pages save without an error. In the latest incident I faced the problem with the front page. I didn’t want to disrupt the website so I duplicated the page to try and make the changes. In this case the changes saved without an issue on the duplicate page whereas on the original front page I got the error. Later on the duplicate page intermittently would throw the error or not. I have tried to find a fix on the internet to no avail. I also couldn’t pinpoint a third-party plugin because I ran a test of elimination on each plugin by activating one at a time alongside Elementor. All the plugins are up-to-date. I am at wits end now and the website (and the theme) has been working great otherwise.
I can’t tell whether this started with the WordPress Gutenberg upgrade because I didn’t update the website until long after Gutenberg came. But it certainly did start after the upgrade, not before.
I have also tried this on two different operating systems, on different internet connections, different browsers – everything.
Something I did notice while working with the plugins was that my website has two instances of the Page Builder Widget Pack by Themovation. A version 1.5.4 and a version 1.0.4.
You can compare the original (broken) and the duplicate (as it should be) versions of the homepage here:

Duplicate: http://www.itravellershostel.com
Can someone help me out with this?
Thanks and regards,

Hi @ashykoenig,
That sounds incredibly frustrating to have done all that troubleshooting and have the problem persist!
It seems that http://www.itravellershostel.com is hosted with GoDaddy, using the free software from WordPress.org, and built with a third-party page-builder (Elementor). Unfortunately, it isn’t hosted with WordPress.com, which is what these forums are for.
Your best bet for addressing your needs is to head to WordPress.org’s forums here: https://wordpress.org/support/forums/.
Or you could try Elementor’s support pages: https://elementor.com/support/.
I hope this helps and the error is sorted in no time! :)
