server permissions issue
-
I cannot install SiteOrigin Premium. I get the message “Unable to create directory uploads/2025/10. Is its parent directory writable by the server?”
This seems to be a server permissions issue. But what do I need to do?

We can’t help as yur site isn’t running on the wordpress.com platform nor can we help with third party plugins, you must contact SiteOrigin support.

Thank you… I also cannot seem to properly embed a “Book Now” button in my WordPress website.
The literal widget code is what shows up on my website, not an embedded button with the link to my online scheduler.
Please advise! This is super frustrating for obvious reasons; I need this to work so that clients can book online from my website!
Thank you!

Yes, it’s definitely a permissions issue. Set the
wp-content/uploadsfolder to 755 or 775, and if it still fails, manually create the missing month folder and retry. -
Hey there! I think this happnes when wordpress dosent have the right permisions to save files in the uploads folder. You can try going in your hosting file manager or FTP and set the folder
wp-content/uploadsto 755 or 775. Also make sure its owned by the same user as your server. After that try again, it usualy fixes the issue. -
