Server Time Out

  Any wordpress help page and any wordpress blog site receives a Timed Out error in every browser I use. I am on Windows 8 and use IE and Firefox. My laptop has Windows 8 and Chrome.

  WordPress at my office (different computer and different ISP) will come up very slowly.

  I cannot surf the help pages at wordpress.com because the support pages time out.

  Is this because I am in Vietnam? Or is WordPress having a lot of traffic? It’s been very slow at work or timeing out completely at home for two weeks now.

  I have searched the web for others having the same problems but cannot find any other people having the same issue.

  Changing the DNS server does not help.
  Using CCleaner to clear my cookies, cache does not help.
  Renewing my IP doesn’t help.

  Yes, we’re seeing recently that the government in Vietnam have increased blocking of WordPress.com. It seems they haven’t blocked all routes to it, so on some ISPs, it won’t be accessible at all while others may work seemingly at random.

  As a workaround, you can try using a VPN or proxy to access the blog. The following links provide some options that you may be able to explore and/or use:

  https://www.torproject.org/

  We have also heard that some users have had luck simply by using Opera Turbo:
  http://www.opera.com/browser/turbo/

  Thanks for your help. I did not find Opera helpful, but I am using TorBrowser right now as you can see that I am able to access wordpress.com! Thanks for your help. TorBrowser was a great suggestion.

  Now I need to figure out how to update my blog when using other software outside of TorBrowser. I may have to just breakdown and buy VPN service. PureVPN is $50 year, but I don’t know a think about using VPN.

  Anyway, thanks again! At least I can use wordpress.com now to edit my blog!
