server wedged?
-
I’m editing a new post. When I save it I get a nearly blank screen with a little smiley emoticon with this img src:
src=”http://stats.wordpress.com/e.gif?c=500-dbconnect&u=http%3A//lucasgonze.wordpress.com/wp-admin/post-new.php&rand=0.3582561551711304″
I believe that means the server is in a hosed state, most likely because it ran out of database connections.

Can we have a link to your blog, starting with http, and the title of the post you’re editing?
-
http://lucasgonze.wordpress.com aka http://blog.gonze.com
The post I’m editing had a title when I was editing it, but I don’t have any indication that the title was preserved. For example when I reload the post-new.php page there’s no sign of the post I was working on.
The most recent title was “YMP free in every box of FoxyTunes”

If it happened during the autosave, it’ll be in Drafts. Check there and let us know if you can see anything there.
The site itself looks fine to me. This is the latest post:
http://blog.gonze.com/2008/06/11/ad-sponsored-music-and-the-major-labels/and that little smileyface is called Angela, and it’s just used for counting stats.

Over in the drafts page I found four drafts from these aborted attempts. Titles of the drafts:
1 YMP free in every box of FoxyTunes
YMP free in every box of FoxyTunes
YMP w/ FoxyTunes
YMP w/ FoxyTunes -
Sounds like you’re right; there was a server hiccup. Compare those drafts and use the most complete one and it’ll probably post okay now. Someone else reported a server warning a minute ago as well.

The angelas happened in two ways.
For the first two drafts, they happened on their own without me touching anything in the page. I put the edit page in the background and it went haywire without any interaction. I assume this is autosave.
The second two were when using the save button explicitly.

Here’s the other thread where someone reported a problem with the save:
https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic.php?id=30343&replies=4Hopefully staff has fixed this.
