Set default Publish to Immediately

    It used to be that when I went to publish a post, the default was ‘Immediately.’ Now it usually makes me set a time. How can I get it back to ‘Immediately’?

    Hey there,

    To schedule blog posts or site pages to automatically publish, click the hyperlinked Immediately next to Publish under Status & Visibility.

    As soon as you set a future date or time, the Publish button will change to say Schedule instead of ‘Immediately’.

    Hi there,

    The default should still be immediately. You shouldn’t be asked to set a time unless you explicitly select that option. Does this happen every time you create a new post, or is it perhaps only happening on a draft you started working on some time ago?

    Can you check your site’s timezone settings and make sure that matches your computer’s timezone? A mismatch there could be causing this. You can find your site timezone settings under Settings ->General in the dashboard.

    Let us know if that doesn’t do the trick.

    Hi – thanks for getting back to me so quickly. The time zone settings are correct. I think, however, you may have touched on something. I usually draft my post then come back to it. Perhaps that is when the default changes to scheduling because when I tested a new post just now, it said “immediately.”

    Can I apply the default to draft revisions as well, do you think?

    Can you tell us a little more about what you are trying to change about the current behavior? We do save revisions (of your work) so you can go back in time and review previous changes: https://en.support.wordpress.com/editors/page-post-revisions/

    However, I think you may me something else by using this word. Maybe an example of what you are meaning will help us to understand? Thanks for the additional info!
