Set download count for existing files
-
Hello,
I am looking for ways to set the limit for download counts for existing files in WordPress. I’ve found a few plugins that tracks/set limit for new files but I’m specifically looking for some options to track download count for existing files.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Hi there, I do not see any sites associated with your username.
Can you give us a link to the site you want help with?
If you are talking about for a site hosted here at WordPress.com, you would need the WordPress.com Business plan upgrade, which includes the ability to add plugins. It’s been a while since I did any work with any of the download plugins, but I think you will find at least a few here that would do what you are wanting.

Please understand that without you providing the URL of the site here, we cannot provide accurate answers to any of your support questions.
We provide support only for sites hosted on WordPress.COM servers. You could be posting to the wrong support forum. Know that WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and you can read the differences here http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
To save time you can type the actual URL of the site you are referring to into http://whoishostingthis.com to determine who hosts the site so you know where to post for support.
If the site is not on WordPress.COM servers contact your web host for hosting issues. For software issues post to the WordPress.ORG support forums.
The wordpress.ORG support forum is at http://wordpress.org/support.
The wordpress.ORG login link is here https://login.wordpress.org/
If you do not have an account yet then click Create an account https://login.wordpress.org/register/ and if you have lost an account password click Lost password? https://login.wordpress.org/lostpassword/
WordPress.org support docs are at https://codex.wordpress.org/Main_Page

@thulasia, noting if you’re using our service or the Jetpack plugin, we can likely help you sort this out.
If you’re hosted elsehwhere, that host likely has a count for your file downloads somewhere in their reporting, and can likely help you out.
And, if you’re not sure whether the site is hosted here or somewhere else, send a link, we’ll take a look. Cheers :)
