Set up home page

  Hi, I bought this theme for the beautiful home page. However, I can’t figure out how to set up this home page. The homepage shows no portfolio items at all, only a blank screen with the ‘project type labels’ on top. I followed all steps from to the theme description. I hope someone can help me! Thanks!

  Thanks for getting back to me! I have indeed followed all instructions from the setup description. To be sure, I even started over completely. I ended up with the same result: a blank page with only the project labels on top. What am I doing wrong?

  When we need Staff help with issues Volunteers cannot resolve like this one we type modlook into the sidebar tags on our forum threads. I did that for you.   Hi there,

  You still have the front page set to show your latest posts. You need to set it to show a static front page before it will use Mellow’s front page layout.

  Click on My Sites, then click the Customize button next to Themes. Click on Static Front Page. Select Static Page at the top, and next to Front Page select the page you titled Home. Then Save.

  These steps are under “Setting Up the Homepage” on the theme support doc @timethief linked to for you.

  Can you please start your own thread for help with this, and include all relevant information like your site’s address, and the browser name and version that you’re using.

  Thanks for your reply.

  At the moment you checked the static page was indeed not set to ‘home’. I did however try this multiple times without any result on the homepage. After your reply I tried it once again: deleting all existing content, starting from scratch and following all steps (and yes, I can follow 5 simple steps. I’m not an idiot.) Sadly, still no portfolio projects on my homepage.

  BUT I found out what the problem was: there were no ‘featured images’ selected for my portfolio items. Once I did this, they all showed up.

  Thanks for helping me out. Maybe the ‘setup instructions’ should mention this step to prevent other users from having the same problem.
