Set Up without transferring domain name

    We want to use WordPress to build a site without changing the domain name to WordPress or alternatively mapping the domain to you. Is it possible to do this? Alternatively is it possible to create a website and then upload it to another provider. I say this because we already have our website hosted by another provider that we are happy with, and we map the DNS servers to a third party which accelerates some polishes the images so that also is not an alternative here when signing up with WordPress.

    Hi sankofaexchangeltd, do you have a host you’re happy with currently? Are you hoping to set up a blog for that site, that is hosted here on our servers, or can you clarify what you’re hoping to do with WordPress.com?

    Can I jump in? I’m moving my site to WordPress hosting and I already have a sandbox site on WordPress working, as a business site. I want to transfer my main domain name to that one, but without affecting my email (hosted by gmail) relationship. I use Cloudflare dns but Linode hosting … can I use that DNS to set A records and CNAME records to my wordpress site? My main one is 15 years old so there are lots of embedded links and backlinks and I want them to resolve to the new WordPress regardless of URL name details.
