Setting a domain name as the 'main 'one
-
Hi Folks
I have more than 1 website name registered.
How do I set a particular website address as the main one?
Thanks
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there – If you go to Store->Domains, whichever domain you select as “primary” there will be the one that shows in the browser address bar. All other domains on that same blog will redirect to whichever is primary.

Hi eurello
Many thanks for your reply.
I have already bought a domain name ending in .com. Does that that I need to buy another domain name ending in .co.uk, in order for it to redirect to the primary site?
Thanks

Hi there – Do you already own the domain chathabooks.co.uk? That is, have you purchased it from another registrar, or did you only buy the mapping here at WordPress.com?
If you don’t yet own it, you’ll need to purchase it from another domain registrar, because we don’t sell .co.uk domains ourselves. Once you own it, you can point it to your WordPress.com account by updating the name servers, as described here:

Hi eurello
Yes, I did purchase chathabooks.co.uk. However, I don’t want to develop my website using that name at the moment. I want to create my site using wolvesmathstutor.com. I also want to purchase another domain name wolvesmathstutor.co.uk and point it to wolvesmathstutor.com.
Can you please explain how I do that?
Thank You.

For any domain that you’ve purchased elsewhere and want to map to WordPress.com, just follow these directions:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/map-existing-domain/#instructions-for-mapping-an-existing-domainWhichever domain you set as primary will be the one that appears. All other domains will point to your blog and redirect to the primary domain.
