Is there a way to set a Parent category to a bunch of posts that already have their own category?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hello: motiweinberg, Yes there is a way → Category Management
Edit: Are you referring to this blog http://villagorgona.wordpress.com/ for category management ? if so category management will not be possible since the blog no longer exist.

Did you look at the support doc ? because there is a screen shot showing where to find the category manger.
Any ways here is the image url referring to where the category manger is → http://support.files.wordpress.com/2009/07/category-menu.jpg?w=149&h=122
If you already created the parent category then please go ahead with this support doc which explains how to → Bulk Edit if you didn’t set up the category yet please refer to this support doc → Category Management

Hmm you should be able to see it because all WP.com blogs are the same version. You may need to click the little faint downward arrow (right side) next the word post on your side bar to see the extra options.

Ok, i see the word categories in the Post section, so I am there.
See: http://bloodywallstreet.wordpress.com/
I want to put all the posts of CHRTS, to fall under the Posts of FINANCIAL SENSE. -
Dashboard sidebar: Posts > Categories: hover under “Charts”, click Edit, select “Financial Sense” from Parent dropdown, click Update.
-
I did exactly that. However, when I go to my blog, it is still not under. When I verify, I see that is is shown that Financial Sense is the parent. What could be wrong? Do I need to go into each post?

You need to go to Appearance>Widgets, open the Categories widget, tick “Show hierarchy”, click Save. That will make the subcategory show up under its parent.
Unfortunately, in the theme you’re using it won’t be indented as it should. You can add some space before the word “Charts” by editing that category again and adding this as many times as you like before the actual word (minus the spaces):
