Setting a Password on a website

We have created a website for use by only certain members of our community who have the password, however, this function (to set a password) no longer appears to be available once you publish a site page. Can we set passwords on site pages?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You can change the visibility of pages and posts to be password-protected regardless of the publication status of the post or page. In the new editor, you would go to Settings –> Status module –> visibility drop-down menu –>change “Public” to “Password Protected” –> click Update to save page. See https://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/page-visibility/ for more detailed instructions for setting the visibility of your pages.
