Setting a static home page and a static about page

Your ‘Get a Homepage’ training says to go to ‘My Sites’ (I believe it means what is actually called ‘My Site’) then ‘Customize’ (I believe it means what’s actualy called ‘Customizer’) then ‘Static Front Page.’ From there it says ‘…click on the Front page drop down list and select the ‘Home’ page you created as your static homepage.’ However ‘Home’ is not one of the drop downs–the only drop downs are’about’ and ‘contact.’ I have not been able to set one page as ‘home,’ and another as ‘about.’

By the way, I wasted many hours over several days because the e-mail WordPress sent to have me activate the account told me to click a button on the page. However, the place I was to click (no button just lettering) was white on a white background and could not be seen until the e-mail was printed. I happened to print it as I was asking others for help. I could then go back and guess from the printed e-mail where I was supposed to click on the screen, and proceed form there. So they couldn’t use black, or red or blue or any other color? They had to go with white on white so it would be invisible on a computer screen?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi vote4fox,

I’ve followed these steps and been able to add a new home page on one of my sites.

I would suggest that you clear your browser cache as this can resolve many issues with WordPress.com sites.

I’ve just looked at your site and I can see your Home page, so all is good here!

I’m afraid I can’t answer your query regarding your account activation email, as forum volunteers have no access to your personal details.

    Hope this helps!
