Setting an alternative blog page
-
I have created a blog – http://www.susangrossey.wordpress.com – and want to have my blog posts on the “Current project” rather than the front “Welcome” page.
I have already created content for the “Current project” page, which you can see.
I would like to turn this page into the blog page, and have followed your instructions here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/front-page/
But when I do this and now click on the “Current project” page, expecting to see the same text but turned into a blog post, I get this error message: “Apologies, but no results were found for the requested archive. Perhaps searching will help find a related post..”
I thought that maybe it didn’tlike converting existing text, so I deleted the whole page and started again, cutting and pasting the text in, but I still have the same problem: the “Current project” page appears fine as a normal static page, but when I select it as the blog page, the text disappears.
What am I doing wrong?! Thank you for your help.

The Posts page displays your blog posts, so you’ll need to at least publish one blog post for it to work as desired.

Dear Macmanx
This makes perfect sense, and has worked like a charm – thank you, thank you, thank you. I was tearing my hair out, but all is now lovely.
