Setting an image as a header on a page

I have a drop down setting on my main navigation menu. For each drop down menu page I want to set an image as a header at the top of the page that shows what the page is about. In the menu on the side of the page there is a ‘set feature image’ but when I do that and go back to the page it doesn’t show up. How do I do this?? Any help would be great!
