Setting an image for the 'archive' excerpt of a post to appear on the home page

  Now wordpress.com has changed the way images are edited, it also seems that a selected image from the post no longer appears as a thumbnail on the archive extract from the post (gallery format) on the home page!! HOW can I ensure that each post archived on the home page carries an image from the post?? Why do they have to keep changing everything!? It’s infuriating!

  You may be referring to featured images, which is what will show up as the image associated with a post on the home page, as well as on Facebook, Twitter, etc.

  If that’s not what you’re referring to, could you describe in more detail what you mean?
