Setting Facebook preview image
-
Hello. How can I set what image is selected for preview in Facebook, when promoting my blog there?
I.e., instead of the WordPress logo, as shown here: http://i.imgur.com/pgnKPjG.jpg
I’d like to do this with an image that I don’t necessarily want to display on the blog itself. I like the clean Elemin design of the blog, and don’t need the image there, but would like an image to help draw viewers from Facebook.
Thank you.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there, if you upload a Blavatar under Settings > General, that image should be served up to Facebook as the thumbnail image for all posts:
https://yesworldpeace.wordpress.com/wp-admin/options-general.php
See at the top right under Blog Picture / Icon.
If you need further help, just let me know!

Thank you for the quick reply. I’ve selected an image as you describe. Unfortunately, the Facebook preview still isn’t picking it up. The FB preview still offers only the WordPress logo image, the same as in the screenshot linked previously, above.
Does it simply take time to propagate or something, or is there something further I can do to get Facebook to pick it up?
Thanks again,
– Peter

Hi there, I now see your new Blavatar image designated as the Facebook thumbnail (og:image) in your posts’ source code:
<meta property="og:image" content="http://0.gravatar.com/blavatar/67be7c311ebe8ca78af689463ae7dadc?s=200" />There is likely a caching issue on Facebook’s end, as you suspect. You can paste a post’s link into Facebook’s debugger to force it to refresh their thumbnail:
https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/
I put your latest post’s URL into the debugger and it’s now calling up the new image:

Let me know how it goes.
