Hi,
From the Quick Specs section of the Chateau theme support page:5. The header image is 960 pixels wide and 262 pixels high.
…
7. Featured images need to be at least 960 x 260 pixels to be displayed. Smaller sizes, while uploading, will not display on the front-end.The featured image on the post Transfabulous..free to be is the proper size, 960 X 260. Feature images are automatically cropped to that size when using this theme.
There are two interwoven parts to your issue:
1. The header image is uncropped.
2. Either absence of a feature image on a post or a feature image of insufficient size on a post will cause the site header image to display above the post. The oversized header image is almost certainly the result of skipping the cropping option at Appearance > Header when you uploaded the present header image. That image displays as the header for a number of other posts including
because each of these posts either do not have a feature image set, or the feature image that is set is not wide enough. A feature image must be at least 960 pixels wide to display, though in a test I found that it can be shorter than 260 pixels.

A feature image must be at least 960 pixels wide to display…
That is, the image used to create a 960 pixels-wide feature image must be 960 pixels or greater in width, otherwise it will not display.
