Setting for custom domain with Office365 already working
-
Hi,
I have purchased a domain from my county’s registrar. My domain is http://www.mcf.org.mv. I have not purchased any hosting yet and therefore the domain is set to default nameservers.
After getting the domain, I have setup email and MS Office through Office365. For this I have setup several CNAME, MX, SRV and TXT records. Now I would like to setup my website on wordpress.com. I plan to start with a Personal subscription to wordpress.com and have the website at this domain.
I would like to know how I would setup the wordpress.com site to point to my domain http://www.mcf.org.mv without it affecting the settings for Office365 services.
Thanks in advance for helping me out.

Hi,
Thanks for the info.
As I mentioned, I already have email set up through Office365.
Now I am looking to host the website on wordpress.com under a Personal or Premium plan. For that I would need to do some DNS settings on my domain. But I am worried that changing some DNS setting might effect my email settings.
So, I would like to know how to do the DNS Setting without it effecting my email settings to host the website on wordpress.com using my existing domain.
Thanks

Right, if you already have email through Office 365, you’ll follow the same steps after moving the domain.
Just start at https://wordpress.com/support/add-email/add-email-through-office-365/#verify-your-domain-name in this case.

My domain is registered at Dhiraagu.com.mv. I want to keep the domain with them. I do not wish to transfer it to wordpress.com
I already have email set up through office 365. I manage it through Microsoft dashboard. I want to keep it that way and not manage it through WordPress.com
I only want to host the website at wordpress.com. For that I would need to change Nameserver or some DNS setting.
I just want to be sure that this will not effect my email.

Right, you don’t have to transfer anything to us.
After the domain is directed to us by changing your name servers, please follow the steps starting at https://wordpress.com/support/add-email/add-email-through-office-365/#verify-your-domain-name to insure that email through Office 365 is still functioning under your domain.
