Setting the correct associated photo with my post

    I am having difficulty getting the top (first photo in my post) to display as the main photo. For example, when looking under the appropriate category in the search options on WP I find my post but the photo that show up is not one I feel reflects my article. The photo that the WP browser shows is the second photo that shows up in my article when you actually click to read it. I have tried searching online and in the WP help sections. Perhaps I’m just not up to date on the right technical terms for what I’m trying to do but I would love some help.
