Setting the number of posts on the main site

Dear Forum,
I would like to set the number of posts on the main site, but I do not manage to do this. Under ‘Settings’ –> ‘Writing’ it seems like good (12 pages are set), but if I take a look at my site, than I see only 8 pages.
Could you tell me, what could be the problem?

Can you tell us the URL of the site you’re speaking of? You have more than one site in your account.

Currently, you have your homepage set to a static page, but you haven’t selected one yet.
If you’d like to it display your posts, make sure that you choose “Your latest posts” instead.

I have set my site so, that it display the “Your latest posts”, but it is still not so as I would like it to look like. On the “Home” page there are 8 posts instead of 12. Do you have other tips, how can I set it correctly?

From your WordPress.com dashboard, please go to Manage > Settings > Writing

Hatch is a portfolio theme, so I would change the portfolio limit from 10 to 12

I see exactly what you mean. The theme you are using is retired, which means we have stopped taking care of the theme and fixing bugs along the way. It is possible this is a bug that is preventing the last four items to appear on your home page. If so, we will not be able to fix that. Here are some alternatives…
The best idea is to switch to a these that looks similar, but is not retired: https://wordpress.com/themes/ – any themes found there are not retired.
Something else I noticed that the four items that are not appearing were published in 2014. Everything in 2015 and newer appears. You can try is altering the publish dates of the 2014 items to set them to 2015 or newer to see if that forces them to display. 1. I have change the theme to “Pictorico”. It is not retired, I think…
2. I have change the publication date of the posts: from Jan. to Dec. 2019Unfortunately, It does not work.
Do you have any oder idea or do I have to give up it?

Hi there,
The theme you have selected displays only the last 8 posts as thumbnails on the homepage. You need to find another theme that displays more posts. Have a look at the themes in the link below as they resemble Pictorico.
