Setting the order of my posts
-
Here is my blog http://dmsvideoblog.com (http://dmsvideoblog.wordpress.com)
I would like to be able to create several static pages. What I mean is I would like the same first 4 or 5 pages to always come-up, in the order I choose and then all other posts to show in the typical order you would see on a blog… in chronological order… the most recent first. I have posted in this forum recently and still need specific help.
Thank you
DMS

I don’t understand your problem. Your pages are shown in the tabs on the top. And when I checked your blog a minute ago, you had posts showing on the front page, in normal blog order. They are gone now.
If you are going to use a static front page, you need to review the FAQ on static pages.

I am currently working on updating my blog. That’s why there are changes. Back to my question… I have checked the FAQ, matter of fact, I’ve done a lot of research but I can’t seem to accomplish what I need. Here goes…
1. I created a post that I want to be the “home page” every time someone visits my blog.
2. I have 3 additional posts that I would like to be listed in a particular order on my blog every time someone visits.
3. I plan on posting a lot more after items #1 and #2 as seen above. All the other posts i would like to show in chronological order. Much like you would see on a typical blog.Is there a way to control the order of my posts as I mentioned? If so I would appreciate some specific help. Suggesting I go to the FAQ is not helping my situation as I have looked throughout the forums and still can’t seem to accomplish what I need.
Thanks

You are using the terms “post” and “page” as if they are interchangeable. They are not, as explained in the FAQ http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/11/11/a-post-and-a-page/
You cannot have a post as a home page. You can have a static page as a home page. Look at the FAQ on static pages.
If you want four posts in a certain order on your home page, the answer is quite simple: write the four posts and make them sticky posts. Look at the FAQ on sticky posts.
There is a reason I suggest the FAQ: because that’s where the answers are.

And it’s all been answered here:
https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/keeping-the-same-first-page?replies=11To review:
– Normal posts always show up in chronological order, newest first. To change the order of a post, you change its date stamp.
– For permanent content up front you need a static front page or a sticky post.
– Multiple stickies are questionable; better turn the 4 or 5 posts into one post or one page. What can be more specific than that? If you have trouble with any of the above, then YOU must get more specific: do you need more instructions on where the date stamp is, OR on how to create a sticky post, OR on how to create a static front page, OR on how to turn five posts into one?

Hello,
I’m working on my blog but the posts don’t appear in a chronological way, with the last post on the top.

@soulportrait: Link to the blog in question, please. (But if one or more earlier posts show up first, they are probably marked as stickies; go to the post editor and deactivate that option.)
