  i have a domain i set up with bluehost. why do i need to change ?

  Can you please explain what do you want to accomplish? Are you trying to use your domain on WordPress.com?

  I set up my domain through bluehost and it led me to wordpress but then it didnt appear to allow me to use my domain.

  WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different platforms. To know more, please read this.

  WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org

  When you host your website on Bluehost or any other web hosting company, you use the standalone WordPress software; it has nothing to do with WordPress.com.

  You can connect your website to WordPress.com only using Jetpack.

  I suggest you contact your web hosting(Bluehost) customer support.
