Setting up a blog account.

I need to as an artist set up a blog where I can explain my rationale for developing my unique style of art. It is essential that as part of the service their media based platform offers me is the opportunity for me to create a link direct to my other website where I have my online art print gallery.

Can you help me please. Also I would need to display a number of my prints, as a taster to encourage potential interested clients to click on the link to my other website. The website that displays my prints, and the prices, also offers a full framing and, printing the artwork onto top grade art paper, and handles the sending of the print to any address worldwide within reason. Potential buyers, would need to pay for the artwork prints on the other website.

Finally what would be the best payment plan to sign up to offered by wordpress.com? Any ideas and advice welcome. Please email me in the first instance to – (email visible only to moderators and staff)
    Thank you

  • Hi Alexander!

It sounds like you are an artist who is interested in creating a blog to assist with marking and selling your art. Cool!

A key component will be that you are able to display images on your blog which then link to the images on your other website where they can be purchased.

This is very possible. All blogs created through WordPress.com use what are called “blocks”. There are many different types of blocks depending on what you would like to accomplish on the pages and posts of your blog. Here is a tutorial video to show you more about blocks and how they work: https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/

One such block is the “Image block”. https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/image-block/

Once the image block is added to your page or post, you can upload an image into the block and set a custom URL for where you would like the image to go when it is clicked or tapped. That should be exactly what you are needing.

Before I get any further, I would like to know when you were planning to create the site, and if you have a name for it yet. Let us know!
