SETTING UP A BLOG PAGE: 1ST TIME

  Same Menu: I want to create a static “home” page and list all my blog enteries on a second “Blog Enteries” page. Although I can insert a static “home page”, clicking on the picture above takes me to the blogs; I want the picture above (name.wordpress) to link to the static page (name.wordpress/static). Clicking on the “Blog page” comes up blank.

  My theme is TWENTY ELEVEN fyi. Can anyone please point me in the right direction…I’m a newb.

  Clicking on the “Blog page” comes up blank.

  You haven’t published any posts so there’s nothing that can be displayed there.

  re: static front page

  The front page of the blog by default will display your posts (not pages) in reverse chronological order, with the most recently published post on top. If you do not want all the posts to show on the front page, then you can create a static front page called for example “Welcome” for your site and a “Blog” page for posts.

  To do that create two pages > http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/ After you do that you go to > Settings > Reading and make the designation change and click “save changes”.
