Setting up a domain name

    Good Morning! I am not quite ready to start my business (still have a few months to go), but i simply want to secure a domain name. Can I set up a free domain and then upgrade to eCommerce when I am ready to go public? Will I still have the same domain name minus the wordpress.com extension? Thanks for everything!

    Hi there,

    You can start creating your WordPress site with a free domain name (looks like you already have one), then upgrade plans whenever you need to. I would suggest buying the domain name sooner rather than later, just so no one else takes it, you can buy it through WordPress or any other domain provider, once brought it doesn’t need to be connected to the website till its ready to go live.

    That way you can have a test domain for building the website and have the correct domain name ready to go when the site is finished.
