setting up a new blog

Hi Everyone
I am setting up a new site for a new project and have bought myself a year’s subscription for a domain name of my own (pushing the boat out!!!).
I could do with some help. I am trying to set up my new Home Page (haven’t published it yet), using Twenty Eleven as it’s a lovely clean-looking theme. But I can’t seem to replace the images at the top of the page – or get rid of the WordPress strapline (no disrespect, WordPress, but I want this site to look like mine! especially as I’ve paid for the domain name).
Any advice would be welcome – it’s a while since I did any admin on my other blog site and it’s all a bit rusty.The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

As far as I know, the size of headings cannot be changed within the themes offered on wordpress.com either for those who pay for a domain name or for those who don’t.
If you upgrade to wordpress.org, you will have more say in the matter of that sort of tweaking.
I have not developed my blog here on wordpress.com yet; however, I am working on several posts.
I cannot remember if the images that rotate across the top of the Twenty Eleven theme are replaceable with your own images, but you may investigate that further here on the Web site.

You paid for domain mapping and that’s what you got – nothing less and nothing more than that.

On one hand, none of the characteristic “blog” features like categories, tags, authors, dates, etc. can be removed from a free hosted WordPress.com blog, without purchasing an annually renewable custom design upgrade and doing the required CSS editing.
