Setting up a new blog with a .wordpress.com- is this still possible?

I’m wanting to set up an additional blog but somehow the ability to add a site with an address such as blogname.wordpress.com is no longer possible and it seems to want me to use some other domain, even for the free account options. There isn’t even an option I can select which lets me do this. Is there something I’m doing wrong here or have changes been made?

Changes have been made to encourage the use of the new free the .blog subdomains. You should be able to create a free site ending in .wordpress.com if you choose “business” rather than “blog” on page 1 of the setup. (You might need to clear browser cache or log in via a different browser to remove any saved settings pointing you to a .blog address).
