Setting up a newly registered domain as a separate blog on its own.

Greetings. Yesterday I purchased a domain registration for gatewaysintotheworld.com, which I intend to build a blog for. In the receipt sent me, the cost for that is $17.00 (all well and good).

The problem is with the rest of what’s on the receipt: It says the domain registration was mapped to thehumanrealm.wordpress.com — mentions a Private Registration for thehumanrealm.wordpress.com — and lists the total transaction (Transaction ID 6UJ00903YE7512021) as $25.00.

I’m not disputing the charges (though I’d like to understand them better), but I would very much like to have the gatewaysintotheworld.com domain separated from thehumanrealm.com it has now apparently been attached to. (This may be due to thehumanrealm.com (managed from Yahoo.com, where it is registered) having a few days ago been set up as a sub-domain here as blog.thehumanrealm.com).

In any case, my primary question at the moment is: How do I set up gatewaysintotheworld.com as a working blog on its own?

Thanking you for your excellent help in things past,

    plainsmann

Upgrades always apply to the blog from whose dashboard they were purchased. You cannot buy upgrades for a blog that doesn’t exist.

What you can do is create a blog and then ask staff to connect the new domain to that. Ask quickly.

Makes perfect sense. Good to see that in the realm of the virtual, the shores of the actual still count for something too. My blog doesn’t exist yet. I’ll create it now and, as you say, ask.quickly.

    Thanks.
