Setting up a slide show so it runs just as a slide show

When I set up a slide show, I’ve been setting it up as “slide show” so it runs as a slide show which is what I want, but when it appears on the blog, it appears as “thumbnail” and to see it run as a slide show, the viewer has to click on the title of the post, or one of the slides. Is there a way to set it up so when the viewer comes to the blog, they just see the first slide rather than all slides laid out?
