setting up a website

    Hi Tim,
since you have the Business upgrade, you can use your site for e-commerce. The page you found explains the two services we partner with to provide those services. If you let me know more about what you want to sell I can help you decide how to best move forward.

I also want to mention that as a Business member, you also have access to private live chat support.

    https://en.support.wordpress.com/live-chat/

I’m more than happy to help you here, but the Live Chat Happiness Engineers specialize in the Business upgrade so you might find it faster to work with them.

Either way, we’ll make sure you get your questions answered!

    Thanks Liz
I am not sure if the live chat’s working hours line up well with mine in Australia but I will certainly give it a go
So I am going to be selling just a few products. Less than 10 to start with. The main product are solar water heating panels for boats and there are some supporting products that people will buy when they purchase a panel or two. Within the 10, there is a group of plumbing fittings so if you count them as one I will only have artound 4 products to start with. The fittings however will need to be individually listed and priced. Perhaps in a chart or table. I intend to expand my product list over time.
As you know I am a total amateur at this but I did take a brief look at the two e-commerce service partners and thought the second one listed one might suit me best but I can’t remember its name right now.
Anyway you have answered my main question and I can get back to choosing one later
At the moment I am struggling with the basics like loading a picture gallery and building a home page (Goran) and despite reading the help notes I can’t find a place that pastes my uploaded pics into a gallery. Do you think there may be a better Theme for a beginner to use?

Based on your description of what you want to sell, it sounds like Shopify could be a good option.

For building a business website, Goran is a good choice. Let’s try walking through it together before deciding if you need a different theme.

I see you have several photos in your media library–that’s great. You said you wanted to create a gallery. Do you mean you want to create one page where users can just see all of your photos, or do you mean you want to add photos to your front page the way you see in the Goran demo?

Either is possible, but the process for each goal is different.

P.S. It sounds like you’ve already read this, but if not, it might be useful to have an overview of how all the special features of your theme work:
