Setting up a website with hosting

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hello,
I bought hosting from site ground, but I was unable to find a way to access wordpress through them. So I thought I needed to create an account and then somehow link them. I realise now that this is not the case, as I was unable to claim my domain name. I would really like some clarity on the issue, because I noticed if I delete this account entirely I cannot re-register with the same email for 30 days. Help

    Hi there!

I see that SiteGround has a WordPress tutorial on their site: https://www.siteground.com/tutorials/wordpress/

That should help you get started with WordPress on their service. You need a domain name that will point to your site, and you will need to install WordPress for that domain to point to. SiteGround seems to have a good “getting started” guide for this as well: https://www.siteground.com/tutorials/getting-started/

You don’t need a WordPress.com login to do any of those things, but you may want to keep it to install Jetpack on your hosted site. https://jetpack.com/features/

I hope this helps you get started on your WordPress website!
