Setting up Home Page and having it work, tags, Photos, template choice

    I went thru the steps to make a home page, but in the settings it said “post or about” and gave me no home page option. I’ve been busting my acorns to get a graphic on my site, but it just disappeared. I am using the template Licorice . Is she just a not useable booger that can’t have a picture though it shows one on the sample? Also navigating from face of site to dashboard and to help is giving me a ticklish digit. I want a site with a front page graphic, and words, the graphic being stable. Is this possible? It seems like it should be. Also having trouble entering tags. Right now I have none because, though I have tags on other sites, this site confuses me. Ps. I have no hope of ever getting a response, so consider it a godlike action if you can help.

    For starters, you need to correct your username link. Your blog URL is:
    http://deirdrabaldwin.wordpress.com/
    (Or isn’t that the blog you’re talking about?)

    And why “no hope of ever getting a response”? Check the recent threads in these forums to see how many have replies and how many don’t, and what the average response time is.

    If by “graphic” you mean an image in the header area (around the blog title), you need to create a suitable image then go to Appearance>Header and upload it. Image has to be in the dimensions the theme specifies (900×235 pixels).

    If you mean something similar to what the thumbnail of the theme shows (in Appearance>Themes), that’s just an image inserted in a post.

    Your home page is your blog front. By default, your blog front displays your latest posts. If you mean you want it to display a static page instead (an intro or welcome page), you create that page in Pages > Add New, then go to Settings > Reading and set your front to display that page.
