Setting up Hosting Question

  • Unknown's avatar

I’m stuck! I want to transfer theperusingmuse.com to IONOS hosting. I have a question. One, do I still own that site, if not, do I need to pay for it. Second, how do I go about getting the authorization code.

    Correct account: Yes

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Actually, I need help with: theperusingmuse.com. I downgraded to a wordpress site, but I want my old site back, preferably with IONOS hosting instead of WordPress.

  • Hi there,

It looks like you’ve already transferred that domain way from us, as it was removed from our system yesterday and now shows as registered with Ionos.

You still own the WordPress.com site the domain was connected to, theperusingmuse.wordpress.com, and you have a monthly Personal Plan on that site which renewed earlier today.

If you won’t be using that site any more, you can cancel the plan from the Purchases page at https://wordpress.com/me/purchases, and you should still be able to receive a refund for today’s renewal payment as well.

Let me know if you have any other questions about this.

It says I need the authorization code to fully send to IONOS? Can you send me the authorization code or provide instructions on how to access it?

  • Hi @ashmostrowski,

The theperusingmuse.com domain has already been successfully transferred to Ionos, as shown here: https://gwhois.org/theperusingmuse.com+dns

In this case, there is no EPP (i.e. authorization) code, as the domain is no longer registered on WordPress.com.

If you’re looking to migrate the content from your theperusingmuse.wordpress.com to a WordPress.org site hosted on Ionos, here’s how: https://move.wordpress.com/exportimport-content/

    Hope that helps.
