Setting up overall blog "Topic"
-
Hi there,
I set up my blog a little while ago and I have made some posts. However, I am a little confused about how people can access my blog through WordPress. I am unsure whether I have chosen an overal “topic” for my blog.
Ideally, I want my blog to come up underneath the topic of culture when people search under that heading – so is there a way to monitor this or change it?Any help appreciated.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

There is no such thing as assigning a category or a tag to an entire blog. We assign categories and tags to our content found in individual posts (not pages).

If you are referring to the WordPress.com global tag pages what I said above still stands but you may want to read that entire section, and most particularly, this part of it global tags > missing posts > http://en.support.wordpress.com/global-tags/ Note that the display of post under the most popular tabs/categories is randomized as there are 25 million publishing about 7 posts per minute. There have been bloggers who assume those pages send lots of traffic to blogs but that simply isn’t true. I’ve been here 6 years and the flow of traffic from those pages is negligible. It’s Google that sends significant traffic flow to blogs and Google’s spiders are focused on keywords found in your content as opposed to tags > Revisiting Keywords and Tags
