-
I already have one blog on wordpress and want to start a second one. How do I do that?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
You can start another site in your account via this link:

Hi
I want to add another author to my site, not create a new site/blog.I looked at the comments and tried the advice and made a second blog site with a second user name and I see no option to do what I want. I have tried variously changing the user name on profile for the site in question and on my profile but remains the original username posted as author.
Is it possible to have more than one blogger posting blogs on one site?
Also
I am still wondering if it is useful to amend all my images with captions and alt text for search engines or is this redundant now- it will take me quite a bit of reloading etc.

@stan1357 it pays to start a new thread of your own to more easily get help. However I think this is the page you need to read:-
-
Yes I did that and when i went to accept it said
Oops, that invite is not valid
You can not use an invitation that you have created for someone else.maybe because I already created a blog site user that I envited?
what to do?

@stan1357
So you’re trying to invite a second account that belongs to you as an author on your main site? You will need to be logged into the second account when you accept the invitation. If you try to accept it while logged in as stan1357, it will not work.
Try logging into the other account in a different browser, then open the invitation email and accept the invitation there.

Hi,
The invitation is sent to the email account (for stan- the invitee). This is where I get the oops message (as previosuly posted) so how can I log in under a different email account to accept?
-
You are logged in as stan1357. Is this the username you’re trying to invite to the site? Or what is the username you’re trying to invite? And what is the site’s URL?
-
I have checked and I was always otto1357 in my profile and email. I appear to be logged into stan1357 as I changed the user name noted previously.
There appears to be a conflict between the user name and the profile name and the account setting details.
I have logged off all and cleared internet cashe, temp files, cookes and deleted the blog assigned to Stan1357. All profiles and account setting are asigned to otto1357 as are emails and display names and web address prefix to otto1357.wordpress.
I have also logged out and logged in under otto and still get the opps error when trying to invite stan.
I can change the display name but this changes all blogs published to the new name.
I sent a request to someone entirely different and they were added, for clarity it appears that your must select a user name with both characters and numbers. The user name is the problem, can it be changed back to otto1357 corresponding to my original registration?
-
Would it be possible to access the database user field, delete otto1357. Then I could change the user name back. then delete stan1357 which would allow me to invite stan as an author then the blogs would be authored appropriately.
-
Okay. It appears that you changed your username from otto1357 to stan1357 two days ago. Your public display name is still set to otto1357, though.
Username changes cannot be reversed, though, so it’s not possible to go back to otto1357 as the username.

I can see that you invited another user on the site, rentaflatxyz.wordpress.com, about an hour ago, but no other users have been added to either of your sites recently. Is that the user you were trying to add?
Usernames don’t have to contain numbers. But it’s about availability. For example, the username “stan” was registered in 2005 already, so if you also want a “stan”username you’ll need to add additional letters or numbers to it to get something that’s available.

Hi Happy engineer,
I read that the user name cannot be recovered, I just thought I would ask as I have seen some criteria changed for example metatags in home pages can only be accessed in a business paln (accessed 14 Jan 2017)
The problem stems from information from a forum topic and the use of the word Blog as 1. a single blog entry / reply 2. a blog conversation 3. a blog site. This has consequences to the interpreation of the options in adding a user name.
As regards the user name invite we tried all kinds of names in the character set some really stupid and only until we combined numbers did it accept the name.
Thamks anyway
