  Hi, when setting up a site, on stage 2 I cannot pick an address. The message ‘Domain registration is unavailable at this time. Please select a free WordPress.com domain or check back in 2 hours.’ appears but with no way to move past the page.

  I have added the modlook tag, the support staff will help you soon! It seems like many are facing this problem now…

  Hi there,

  Our domain provider is experiencing some technical issues, so new domain registrations and transfers are not possible at this time. Please check every few hours – this has been going on for a while and we unfortunately don’t have a timeline on when things will be working again.

  Meanwhile you can create your site at a free address for now. On the domains step, search for a key word rather than a full domain, and you’ll see the option for a free *.wordpress.com or .blog address. Then you can buy the plan you want and start setting up your site at that address, and add the domain once that is possible again.
