setting up site without transferring domain

Hi, can I set up a site without setting up a new domain or transferring my existing domain. I want to play around with the templates, before I transfer over my existing domain/website. Thanks!

When you start a site here, whether you choose a custom domain or not, you will be given a free subdomain to build your site under.
You won’t need to transfer the domain until you’re ready.

Thank you! How do I do this? The only options I have (Step 2) is to choose a custom domain or transfer an existing one. I can’t see any option to skip this step or move past it?

hi, i just created my domain and hosting on a website, but i’m trying to transfer my domain to wordpress, it wont work and it says i have to wait until August 20, 2020.
What can i do? thanks -
@sarah0469, type again the free subdomain you wish to use. You should be able to skip the purchase choosing that one.
@paulguilbert, new domains need to wait 60 days before being transferred, you will want to map it instead:
