Setting up Stay theme

  I, like some others, am having difficulty setting up the blog to look like the sample blog. I’m sorry, I’ve read through other threads but I think I need help in dummy language. I want to have a static home page, with rotating images. Could someone please help this dummy out? I’m not super savvy with tech talk, so again, very sorry if I’m wasting anyone’s time, but would love a step by step!

  As an aside, please don’t link me to the stay theme set up guide. I’m trying to follow it but have no idea how to set up the pages with images so it works like a carousel. The instructions are very difficult to understand when you’re new at this…please help!!

  I have been reading through them, thank you. It’s really difficult to read through a bunch of other peoples problems trying to sort out your own. I’m just asking for some starting guidance here. Thank you.

  Home Page Template
  To set up Stay’s home page template:
  Create a page http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/ and assign it the Home template under Page Attributes. http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/page-attributes/

  To populate the featured page slider:
  Create pages with Featured Images that are at least 960px wide.
  http://en.support.wordpress.com/featured-images/#setting-a-featured-image
  Select up to 6 pages in the Customizer http://en.support.wordpress.com/customizer/ under Home Slider.
  Content on the home page will be full-width, between the slider and home widget areas.

  The three optional widget areas can be set up in Appearance → Widgets.

  I did that, and nothing. That’s why I thought I would contact you guys from some guidence. When I create the first page (home), do I name it Home? Then I don’t pick a parent but I choose the ‘home’ template? When I create the subsequent pages with featured images, do I name them? I just add the image and then do I pick a parent, or template? When I go to customize the slider, do I choose ‘Home’ (if that’s what I’m naming the first page) then I choose the other featured image pages? I’ve tried that all and nothing. Unless I’m missing a step in choosing a parent or template for the featured images.
