Setting up the blog
-
I’ve spent hours setting up my blog and trying to see how it appears to those who visit it. At the moment I can’t see what my profile would look like to someone else – it appears to me as an information box for me to edit. When I open the ‘about’ tag, the personal info I have allowed/entered doesn’t come up, such as email, phone number etc. How do people get this? (I have now included it in the text of my blog at the bottom)
Especially important – is there some way to make the place to add commentsmore obvious? With the theme I use there is the tiniest blue word at the bottom of the page saying something like ‘2 comments’ and sometimes it doesn’t appear to be there at all. I want something which says to my followers loud and clear ‘leave a comment’ – is there some way I can do this? Do I have to change my theme?Sorry if these seem obvious questions. I would happily pay for help in sorting them out because I’ve spent days and days trying to understand how to get this blog to do what I want it to do, and then testing it as if I’m a follower to see if it is doing it. This could be something you could include somewhere, eg the dashboard…”what it looks like to an outsider”.

The profile information you enter in Users -> My Profile will appear in several locations, including when someone hovers over your Gravatar image, or visits your Gravatar page. Adding your information to your About page is the best way to go.
You can also add the Gravatar widget to your footer (in Appearance -> Widgets) and customize it to appear the way you’d like.

You can use the Custom Design upgrade to modify the CSS to make that text more prominent. But, it looks like you’ve changed your theme to Chunk, which definitely makes the “Leave a comment” text stand out more.
If you haven’t yet, I’d also suggest checking out Learn WordPress.com to get up to speed with using WordPress.
I hope this helps!
