Setting up the blog

  Hi there, I’ve got a WordPress.com account: rupertcolley.wordpress.com. Although I know how to create a ‘new post’, when I publish it, it doesn’t appear anywhere. It’s because I don’t know how to set up an actual blog where the new post should appear. Can you help?

  Hi Rupert,

  You’re on the right track! If you’ll check out your Reading Settings here, you’ll notice that you have a static home page set, but no Posts page:

  https://rupertcolley.wordpress.com/wp-admin/options-reading.php

  So here’s what I recommend

  1. Create a new page where your posts will live, and give it a title (e.g. Blog)
  2. No need to fill in a body on this page, but you do need to publish it)
  3. Return to your Reading Settings, in the dropdown next to “Posts” select your new Page
