Setting width of table columns

  • Unknown's avatar

I’d like to set table columns to different widths, i.e. 1st col narrow (just the year), 2nd a bit wider for short description, 3rd col even wider to display several photos. Can this be achieved on a ‘free’ website? (I’m trying out various formats before finalising.)

  • Hello there,

This wouldn’t possible to set custom widths. There is a option to not use fixed with cell widths however.

This means the cell width may be the length of the content.

Instead of a table, you may wish to look at using a column block where it’s possible to change the widths of the columns. https://en.support.wordpress.com/wordpress-editor/blocks/columns-block/

Thanks for your help. I’m getting there although it’s fiddly adding in extra images to an existing block. I reckon I can overcome this with practice. Still considering other themes and options, but your suggestion is really useful.
