Hi there,
The banner text color is hard-coded into this theme so there is not a setting you can use to change it. To do that you will need to use CSS code to override the default behaviour and make a change to the source code that way.
It is not possible to add CSS on your site currently, but you can add that ability by upgrading to the WordPress.com Premium Plan, which includes the ability to edit CSS.
The Premium plan includes domain mapping, by the way, so you would not need to maintain that as a separate upgrade.
If cost is an issue you can also consider our CSS add-on: https://wordpress.com/add-ons/
If you decide to upgrade, let us know, as well as let us know the color you want your text to be instead, and we can help you with a bit of code you can copy/paste. Thanks!
