Settings for Mobile Options

I am new to this and just set up a blog. I’m going through all the dashboard links to get everything set but I don’t understand the Mobile Option settings. I’m not familiar with these things since I don’t use any mobile devices.

What are the best settings for those who may visit my blog using mobile devices? Going down the list, I have it set as Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes, No.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Set Mobile to Yes – so if someone visits your site with a Mobile device they will get a friendlier display that is optimized for their mobile device – those without a mobile device will see the regular display – best of both worlds I think

Well, I thank you very much. There’s so much terminology to learn. So many options that are foreign to me and when I set out to learn them in the tutorials, the jargon doesn’t clear it up.

    I appreciate your help.

You be welcome & good luck

the good news here is that the basics are fairly simple and you are going through the tutorials which is more than most new bloggers – also the support forum is here to help when you get stuck

Well, I’m glad for that because I hate not knowing things that are set before me. Especially when so much of it can be learned in a few minutes.

    I thank you, again.

I do not have time to consult this page and determine whether or not Adventure Journal is a respônsive layout theme or not. http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/features/responsive-layout/

If it is listed there as a responsive layout them then know that responsive width means the layout adapts depending on the size of the device being used to view your site. When responsive width themes are viewed on mobiles sidebars appear below the posts in order to provide as much space as possible for reading.

Go to > Appearance > Mobile and disable the mobile theme

I’m lucky I had my grits this morning. I read your post and it was like alien talk. But I slowed down and broke it down. By the saints, I believe I understood it enough to know what you said!

I checked that page and the Adventure theme is not there. So, if the cotton between my ears is working, I should just leave all of those media options on yes. Am I right? Lord, I hope so. My phone is simple. It still has a wheel and dials.

    I thank you.

Yes. If the theme is not a responsive layout theme then leave the mobile theme option enabled.

    Again, I thank you much.
