Settings for people to post comments

I cannot figure out how to change my settings for people who sign in to see my blog and then leave a comment. In an effort to make this a private blog, I gave the people I wanted to visit the blog our user name: ghzick and a password. I know. Stupid. So, the question now is, can I undo what I’ve done. I want only certain people to see our blog–people I’ve invited (and given out the user name and password). (Hits forehead.)

What can I do now? I keep getting emails for WordPress telling me I’m so vain because I commented on my own post. But, it’s not me commenting. It’s all those folks I gave the user name and password to. Oy vey!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

It is possible to make your blog private so only the people you want to see it have access, but they will need to access the site through their own WordPress accounts, not yours. Here are the steps I recommend you follow.

    1) Change your password. It’s not safe for all of those people to have access to your site, even if everyone of them is completely trustworthy, they could accidentally erase your whole site, or purchase upgrades, and do basically anything that you can do on the site.

    2) Invite all the people you want to have access to your site to be viewers. Here’s how that works: http://en.support.wordpress.com/adding-users/#invite-people-to-view-your-private-blog

All of your viewers will need to create free WordPress.com accounts to view the site (that’s how WordPress.com knows they are on the “list” of invited viewers.)

That should take care of the problem. If you have any further difficulties let me know and I’ll be happy to help.
