  I’m not entirely certain I understand what you want to do.

  The theme you’ve chosen Libretto appears to be a single column theme, with no sidebar option. https://wordpress.com/themes/libretto/

  If you want a theme with a sidebar, you’ll want to find and change to a different theme. This will get you started: https://wordpress.com/themes/filter/two-columns/type/free/
