Settings/Sharing

Hi – on my site https://69shadesofsmut.wordpress.com/ our Sharing links under Settings/Sharing are constantly disappearing. Does anyone have a fix for this?
    Thank you.

    Hi,
They disappear from where? From the Sharing Settings page?

  • Unknown's avatar

Yes, from the Sharing Settings page. It’s happened three times already, and we’re a group blog of 20 authors, so it’s a major PITA.
    Thanks!

Okay. I’ll tag the topic for staff attention. Please wait for a staff member to respond.

    Hi there,

Can you make a screenshot of the problem with the links on your sharing settings page? I see all of the links there, so a screenshot will help me understand the problem you described.

You can upload screenshots to your Media Library under Media > Add New in your dashboard, or you can use an online service like Snaggy.

Also, do you have any browser extensions or add-ons in your web browser? It’s possible that a browser extension is interfering there, and temporarily disabling any extensions or add-ons will help check to see if that’s the cause.

Hi – the links you see right now on the page were just recently re-added. We have 20 authors who add their sharing links to this page, and every month or so, WP wipes them all out, and we have to re-add them. The screenshot is probably exactly what you’re seeing on your side, but here’s the link. https://69shadesofsmut.files.wordpress.com/2015/07/69shadesscreenshot.jpg
    Thank you!

    Hi there,

Thanks for explaining. That’s also what I see on your settings page, so it looks like everything is currently as it should be. If those connections disappear again, can you please let me know before you re-add them?

I checked your blog’s history and I see that several users on the blog have deleted those Publicize connections in the past, which might explain why they disappear from time to time. (If someone deletes a shared connection, it deletes the connection for everyone using the blog.) However, if you let me know right after it happens next time that will help me pinpoint what’s going on.
