Settings(Time) Issue

When I go to my settings to change the default time for my blog this doesn’t seem to work. In the settings tab it says that I have changed the time to what I currently am living in, but my blog is still 7 hours ahead of me. I will post something around 6 here and it will be the next day screwing up my post times. I don’t know what to do about this but the time being off is starting to get really annoying.

Is there anything I can do to solve this problem? Thank you for your time.(:

Actually, I’m having this problem, too.

WordPress.com is used all over the world, so they use UTC or GMT for keeping the time. When it is midnight in London, that is the time your stat counter will change for everyone’s blogs.

But if I set my time zone for Eastern Standard, shouldn’t my post times reflect that? It’s not so much the time but the date that is an issue — ie; I need to post a study guide by Thursday, but because of the 6 hour time difference, it appears on Friday morning. I would just like the post times to match my local time.

I just realized that I hadn’t set the time on my test blog. Thought I had, but apparently I didn’t save the change. It works in DePo Masthead, Almost Spring, Banana Smoothie, Benevolence and likely others. I tested those because they show the time as well as only the date.

Double check that you have set your time zone:
    dashboard > settings > general settings > Timezone > UTC -5

Other than that, I out of ideas.

So could this be a layout issue? I try to post every tuesday, annoying when it comes up as wednesday for me because I posted to late. I double checked my time settings and i’ve tried changing them multiple times.

    :/ I don’t want a different layout xD

No I only tested those themes so I could see if the post-time was accurate on a post. In those themes, it seems to work because they display both time and date.

I’d guess most themes only show the date (like the one I use for my real blog). This issue has come up before, and the way to test it, would be to make a post with a non-time displaying theme at 5 to 7 pm (for me) and one at 5 after 7. And I’ve never done that (my blog not being time-sensitive).

We can only hope someone else knows and will fill us in. Or ask support?

You do know you can edit the post time?

o_o Wow I did not know that…new to blogging..

Thank you that will have to do for now =)

If I were you guys I’d contact Support. This probably has to do with the recent revamp of all themes that they did.
