  hi there, i currently have an online store on shopify and I am looking to setup on woo instead. but I dont want to close down my shopify until me new woo website is ready. how do I move forward?

  I don’t have a site with WordPress.com yet

  Hi there,

  You’re about to Woo the e-commerce industry! I believe the longevity of your Shopify account depends on the team at Shopify. I suggest contacting them at https://help.shopify.com/en/questions to get an idea of how long you can keep your store open.

  And in the meantime, you should set up your WooCommerce on WordPress.com! Here are some links to get you started with WooCommerce

  Howdy @oliverandmay

  Is your Shopify site at a custom address? To set up WooCommerce on WordPress.com will require our WordPress.com Business Plan and that will allow you to fully set up your new site on our business site hosting (using a staging address) before pointing the domain here.

  That way your current site can stay “live” until your new one is ready.

  To explain in a bit more detail, when you first create your site we will assign a staging subdomain you can use to get set up in private. When you are ready to “launch” the new site to replace the one on Shopify, that is when you will want to connect your domain to us.
