Sever, Port, Domain
-
Dear Sir or Madame,
I am currently trying to use FTP to add some themes to my wordpress side. Therefore I need the server, the port and the domain of https://wordpress.com/pages/posterselectrochemistryundercover.wordpress.com and I am wondering if you could provide this information.
Thanks in advance.
Kind regards

You’ll need a paid Business Plan to use FTP https://wordpress.com/support/ftp-access/ and manually add themes: https://wordpress.com/support/themes/#uploading-a-custom-or-third-party-theme
We do offer hundreds of themes already though, no plan or FTP access required: https://wordpress.com/themes

OK, that is said. Is there any possibility (free of charges) to password protect .pdf files which are made available online? And why can I download and open the files although they are password protected themselves?
Thanks a lot

I can’t speak to PDF files themselves, I believe you can password protect them in the software you use to create them, and your PDF reader may remember the password.
From our end, you could consider embedding the files https://wordpress.com/support/embedding-a-pdf-file/ on a password-protected page: https://wordpress.com/support/post-and-page-visibility/

OK, but it is still possible to just type in the url of the .pdf and I can download it without opening the webpage. Beside the fact, that the .pdf settings were set to require a password (on my pc) and after uploading them to the Media folder ond the Worpress side the password settings disappeared?

Yes, that would still be possible here, if someone managed to get the PDF file’s URL.

That seems odd, what application did you use to add the password?

The professional Adobe Acrobat reader
files –> settings –> safety –> add password
and it works for each single file. By the way, yesterday it also worked downloading the files from the wordpress side.

And …
I did it again with a new password on the .pdf file –> it worked again downloading the file from the wordpress side.
Only my old files are not protected although they had a password. -
